Edit video with
the coding agent
you already use.

Bare Video gives your coding agent a working kit for short-form video: type, cards, captions, motion, layouts. Pick a style, pick the blocks you like, or hand the agent a reference and let it follow that instead.

Styles are a starting point. Your footage, references, and instructions win.

Same component, five styles

Pick a block. See it in every style.

A style is one set of decisions: type, color, cards, spacing, captions, motion. Here is the exact same composition in all five, so you can see what actually changes and what stays put.

Grey blocks are footage slots, not fake mockups of people. Drop in your own clip and the same composition keeps its style. Styles are a starting baseline: your references and instructions override them.

First-time setup

Set it up once. Then just edit.

Open the folder in your coding agent. If you pick Groq or Deepgram and there is no key yet, the agent opens a local .env file for you. Paste the key there, not in chat.

01Open the project

Your video, references, and Bare Video can live together in the working folder.

02Add a cloud key only if needed

Groq uses GROQ_API_KEY. Deepgram uses DEEPGRAM_API_KEY. The agent opens the local env file instead of asking for the secret in chat.

03Build the brief and preview

Choose the style, components, captions, sound, and review flow. The agent edits with your real footage and references.

Build the prompt

Give the agent your taste.

Skip anything you do not care about. Every pick is a default the agent can drop when your footage or your reference says otherwise.

Goal
What should the finished short do?

Optional. One sentence is enough. The agent still inspects the real footage before deciding the edit.

Reference
Are you pointing the agent at a reference?

Optional. Put the file, clip, or screenshot in the project folder first, then name it here. You can also hand it over in chat after you paste the prompt.

Transcript
How should the agent understand speech?

Choose the transcription route. The agent checks what already exists before downloading models or using cloud services.

Collaboration
When do you want to give feedback?

Keep this simple. Plan first if you want control before editing, or let the agent make a concrete draft.

Editing theme
Choose a starting style.

This sets the visual skin: color, type, cards, captions, spacing, and motion. The agent can still change the composition.

Layouts & elements
Give the agent a useful kit.

Select the compositions you like. They are ingredients, not restrictions: the agent can resize, combine, reposition, or adapt them to the footage.

These are starting components, not a strict allow-list.
Finishing touches
Control the intensity.

These choices shape how often the edit changes and how much captions and sound contribute.

First output

Your footage. Your reference. Your edit.

Use the kit as-is or push past it. It gives your agent somewhere to start, not a ceiling.
